SUSPECT IN UK SOLDIER MURDER OUT OF HOSPITAL
LONDON (AP) — British police say one of two suspects shot by police following the slaying of a British soldier has been released from the hospital and taken to a police station.
Soldier Lee Rigby, 25, was killed by two men wielding knives and meat cleavers last week in broad daylight near his barracks in southeast London's Woolwich area in an apparent Islamic extremist attack.
Two suspects were shot by police arriving on the scene and arrested on suspicion of murder.
Scotland Yard said Tuesday that one — a 22-year-old man — has been discharged from the hospital and taken into custody for questioning.
Police said he was further arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a police officer.
